Three words I would use to describe myself

If I had to describe myself in just 3 words, would say I am creative, curious, and different. Whenever I have a free moment in my day, I love to spend it making art and discovering cool projects to do. I’m always thinking of new questions to ask or searching for answers. My life is full of action and movement. I don’t do any “typical” sports and I’m a homeschooler who is starting an animal rescue. It’s hard to describe yourself in just 3 words (especially when you haven’t lived for a SUPER long time), but after thinking about it, I believe the words creative, curious, and different are a good start.

During the summer, I never get tired of making art. I’ll spend hours trying to create a pretty sunset using watercolors, or finding the best way to press flowers to make bookmarks. Whenever I go somewhere that might be exciting, I always bring my camera. I like to capture moments by using photography because when I get an amazing picture that I’ve been hoping for, it just brightens my day. I know a lot of people spend their free time differently and do something other than art – like videos games or playing soccer. I don’t know exactly why I choose to make art, but when I create something, whether its taking a picture or sketching animals, it always brings me joy and peace.

For some reason, I always like to know why things are the way they are. I tend to wonder about lots of different questions and its fun to try to come up with possible answers. When I find the right answer, everything becomes clearer. Even if I don’t, I tend to come up with even more interesting questions. Also, it’s fun and interesting to think of questions.  I think that understanding is a big part of learning/knowing. A few months ago, I completed a study on one of my dogs who had a lot of anxiety, because I wanted to know why she was so stressed. In the end, I found out that understanding dog body language is key in order to correctly communicate with your dog in knowing what she’s/he’s trying to say.

I’m not a person who will only do things the way that they’ve always been done before. As a homeschooler, I learn what every other kid in my grade has to learn, but I can do it in a way that makes it more meaningful to me. I’m a vaulter (someone who does gymnastic and dance on a moving horse)  who is trying to qualify for the junior. World Championships, I’m a horseback rider who has been riding for 7 years, I’m a 12 year old whose dream of starting an animal rescue is coming true, and I’m much much more.

It’s hard to define yourself in such few words, especially when you’re only twelve years old. So, I chose a few attributes that I identify with. Being creative, curious, and different are all things that I can see in myself and that I like being.

    Hi Anna,
This is certainly a challenging writing prompt. It’s very difficult to describe anything with just three words. Well done!! And I agree that you are creative, curious, and different – in addition to many other wonderful attributes. Continue to be YOU!!
